    Pride of the Fleet

Just before Christmas I found a two door Rangie that was worth buying. I looked at three others, one of which was purchased by another site member. The other two were quite modified and not what I was looking for.

This is a '76 in Bahama Gold (paint is a bit ratty, I am addressing that). Interior is very tidy (no sagging hood lining!) and it seems to be mechanically pretty good too.

My plans are just to keep it in good condition and enjoy it. No modifications are on the cards.

I'm envious, it's good to hear your not going to take a nice tidy original car and stuff it up with "improvements" I love the early bumpers on it too

I already have an extensively "improved" 4 door. Which might get more mods now .

That looks fabulous. What a find - you're a lucky guy.

I hear you on not modding it too. There is nothing like driving - and owning - an older Rangie in original condition.

I reckon we need a 'selfie' of you in the drivers seat with a huge grin from ear to ear.

Wow! that's a clean, straight and original example.
    What a find.
    Lucky you.

Grumbles, no need for a selfie. Rest assured the Rangie looks better than I do!

The Bahama gold accentuates what was both radical and endearing of the original design....great find!! I was ambling home this afternoon, having dropped my daughter at BNE airport when a L320 somethingorother flew past, cut across 4 lanes and disappeared on the off ramp. What struck me was how the timeless uncluttered design of the Classic and dare I say, the P38 has been butchered, especially from the rear... Perhaps it was the heavy black colour ... but all the grace and elegance has gone. It's as if the obesity epidemic has caught up with the RR and a frumpy arse is the result... I was most disappointed.

I still love my L322, but it is a different driving experience. There is something special about driving a proper original 2 door. It is even markedly different to my '87 4 door.
