If you consider a Discovery an upgrade over a Rangie, you're in the wrong forum.
I can't see myself ever feeling the same attachment to a Discovery of any sort as I do to my desperate looking 1974 RRC. I'd be buried in it if I had a choice!

I know the feeling. But to get a diesel RRC is hard work. I'm shelling out lots of hard earned on fuel keeping the 3.5lt V8 going. It is duel fuel and i get highway driving approx. 450km out of 60lts gas and 60 lts or petrol. 120lts to get 450kms is a bit too much for me. It probably needs tuning but it is still not very fuel efficient.
I love my rangie but i can't keep "pooring" money into the tank.
A 1995 RRC body on a Disco 1 300 TDi chassis would be my ideal car.
