Thread: Fuel filter seal

Bought a new fuel filter cartridge for my 84 RRC today. When I saw the package I asked the guy where the top seal was, there were 2 large diameter flat rings for the filter housing (why 2???) but no top seal! Apparently they no longer come with it, what is more he told me that there is no current part number for it either, or put another way you can't buy one! This was not at stupid cheap or autaburn but at my local LR specialist. The one that came out was cracked and deformed too, but I had no choice but to reuse it. I wonder what else is going disappear from the spares shelves??

which even used the same fuel lines - the threads fit and all. (This link isn't what I got, it's just an example.) I had to make a bracket to hold the new filter in the right spot so that the hoses weren't stretched.

It's just the way to go as the availability of more and more little parts dry up. The filters are very common and easy to get, too.

Thank you for that! I will look at doing that or something similar when I next get to the filter! Bit of a bugger to work on though (I have a gas system in the way)
