Shot rear trailing arm bushes allows the rear axle to move around and steer the rear end which makes it very interesting coming off the throttle when cruising. These if standard type will be tortured by lifting 4 inches. Easy way to check put a wheel brace on the drivers side rear wheel nuts and see if the axle is moving back and forth while trying to tighten the nuts.

I have an 84 with a 2 inch lift and the Panhard rod bushes (the rod holding the front diff in place) must be kept in perfect shape i.e replaced regularly.
Get someone to move the steering wheel 40mm either side of centre while you feel the bushes for movement. if shot replace the bolts as well as these wear.

By the way a current pic of the car would help.
