RRC 93 3.9 V8 Starting off accelerator flat spot on petrol only
I have a 93 RRC 3.9 V8 320K conversion to LPG only 30K ago no mods to head but always start and do a fair bit of running on petrol. I am having a problem when on petrol that when trying to accelerate from a standing start the accelerator moves and moves until vroom your off, on LPG its the typical gradual acceleratrion as you push the pedal. Have cleaned the MAF with MAF cleaner no change, wondering what to look at next , I also dont have an ODB display box fitted for some reason I have one bnought from ebay but have not been able to see where the connector cable.wire is maybe mine wasnt fitted with one... all help greratly appreciated.

The RRC predates OBD by a lot of years, you need specialised equipment to read its ECU. Your throttle position sensor (TPS) is probably stuffed though. Use a multi meter to read the voltage on the TPS with the ignition on, engine not running. It's the red wire on the 3 pin round plug. It should smoothly vary between 0V and around 5V.

I figured that may be a possibility I will check the voltage and get back to you, if its faulty it seems the best way to go maybe an AC delco one from rather than all the $$ for a gen LR unit and the britpart ones seem to have the usual Britapart quality issues.

Rovergauge is the diagnostics for the hotwire 3.9 v8. A wide band air fuel gauge is you other one.

Sorry for the delay had a small medical emergency... anyway checked the TPS and its reading less than 1v at idle i.e no accelerator then moves gradually up to around 5V at the end.... so doesnt seem to be the TPS any other ideas???
