It's a bugger of a job to do because you have to do it by feel as you can't get at it directly unless you remove the binnicle. You almost need to have a Go-Pro outside on the windscreen and a screen in front of you.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

I dismantled it completely and could not find any broken parts. I reassembled it with a little light grease. It no longer ticks... BUT it is about 30% out now. It was about 10% before because of the big tires. What did i do wrong? I cannot understand for the life of me why it would be worse now. Maybe the speedo magnet is restricted?

The speed depends on the air gap between the needle base ring and the magnet which turns. You may have changed this when you dismantled it.
If it is reading slow then you have them too far apart.

Which assembly/part did you dismantle? IIRC the right-angle drive is a pre-assembled component which is not consumer servicible.

I did not dismantle the right angled part. I'm not sure if it is even possible. I dismantled the speedo itself and checked the gears.

The thing that usually clicks is the right angle drive.

I've replaced 3 on my 1985 RRc since new.

I made the mistake of having my repairer do it once and after a $250 repair on the speedo the clicking was still there. I replaced the drive myself and the clicking went away.
