Heater Controls - how to drive them??!!

As the title says - I've got a RRC 1988 model, with the old slide controls - and I can't for the life of me work out how the control work on the heater / aircon.

It has an aircon pump, but not sure how to make it work etc.

Anyone have a manual or can give me some pointers???!!

    Thanks guys
    Wes

It's a great system, but describing how to work it makes me realise how ridiculous the controls are.

Left vertical lever is fresh air to the middle line of dash vents. No heating or cooling in this circuit at present.
Right vertical lever switches heated air from the top vents by the windscreen to the foot vents.
Bottom horizontal lever is fan control and fresh or recirculation for the air to top or bottom vents. Top temperature slide is easy.

The ac system is essentially stand alone and recirculates cabin air to the same middle vents the fresh air lever controls. The two ac controls are fan speed and temperature of the air leaving the ac core which is by the passenger's knees.

No problem. If your heater controls don't match that, let me know. There were several variants as the years progressed.
