Thread: late model mirrors on two door.

I have had at least 2 2-doors with them. The one I have now which has range rover classic electric mirrors on it is rather nasty - a piece of tin has been riveted into the window/door and the mirror just screwed into that.

Personally they are much better for vision as they are fairly large, but the purist in me thinks they don't sit right on a 2 door.

You may be able to get some brackets or specific mirror assemblies from over seas given two doors were produced into the 90's.

The earlier window frames had the push out small window and a triangle of solid rubber approximately where the mirror would mount. The later models had the frame the same as the 4doors and had the one piece glass and the mirror mounted to the corner (and electric).

I ordered (keep in mind it was the mid 90's) a set of frames & glass and mirrors from the UK. About 3 hours to swap. Plus wiring in the electrics and switches.

Will give it a go. Don't mind losing qtr window opening.

Got a 93 disco parts car with the earlier phase 2 mirrors. Going to ignore the wiring and use as manual mirrors. Will update

Might even get some mounting plates laser cut and powder coated if enough interest
