    4 cyl Range Rover

    Was there a Range Rover model that was fitted with a four cylinder Italian engine that had individual cylinders/cylinder heads? A guy told me recently that he had owned one and it was a factory fitted engine, not an aftermarket conversion. I think he said it was a diesel engine.

    Yes, the VM-powered RRC made in the Eighties. Called the Turbo D.

    Walk away if offered one.

    The engine is reputed to be a great boat anchor.

    Unless it's the single 2.5 VM engined RR that came here. For some reason, this engine seemed to be a big improvement over the 2.4.

    For the right price it would be an easy recipient for a 200Tdi/300Tdi.

    Good idea Dougal as the 300 tdi must be plentifull and cheap I had mine in the 4 sale section $1200 with no Ks on new timing belt and fan bearing .A free salisbury housing and centre ,front housing and 24 spline centre ,snorkle ,tail shafts and didn't get a nibble

    I got one but dropped an 4JG2t Isuzu in instead of the dead VM.
