Classic wise ones,
Re: '89 Vogue metal sunroof. I replaced all the seals, had the headliner piece reupholstered and repainted the roof panel (to make it all like new and not leak). One of the fiddliest jobs I've had to do yet!
Can anyone tell me exactly how the headlining piece runs with the sunroof operation. Like - how do the struts attaching it to the gutter rail lie - over or under the arms with rollers on them that swing up for the tilt up position of the sunroof panel?
After multiple attempts and much cursing I got the headliner reattached to the six clips at the front of the sunroof panel. I have the headliner struts running under the cranked roller arms or else it all binds up when the roof tilts up. But how is the rear of the headliner meant to follow the sunroof panel when it tilts up. Why the !@#$# does it tilt up anyway - to let some airflow through the cabin???
Any advice appreciated.

Thanks for your ionterest Ron,
It is a different set up from 1990 on with glass roof etc. Earlier has the cloth headliner piece attached tot he sunroof metal panel and travels with it.
Ahh. Thanks for that info. My RRCs didn't have sunroofs.

"p38arover: Ahh. Thanks for that info. My RRCs didn't have sunroofs."
... and that would be the way to go, I reckon. Mine is 1990 with cloth covered manual sliding "blind" and exposed glass in roof ie no metal "lid".
I love my RRCs but the worst thing about the latest is this sunroof. Only Germans should make these. I opened and closed it once only, then took the fuse out for fear it would break in the rain or something.
My sunroof also inexplicably shattered last month and I am presently seeking advice from panel beater on replacing the glass with a permanently closed window of perspex and silastic.
Perhaps replace the whole roof. I believe it screws on and is relatively easy to change.
