    3.5 fuel injected running poorly

This motor is in a 86 model range rover.when I bought the car it was running fine ,then the next time I went to start the car it wouldn't idle running roughly like its got a miss, backfiring under acceleration as well as black smoke like to much fuel. I have been told that it could be e c u issue but wondering if anyone else has had this problem
