    Duel Battery

My RRC Vogue has a ball with pipes leading to it sitting right where I would propose to mount my second battery, looks too hard to move so where is the next best place to mount a second battery? I have a Projecta duel battery system sitting here waiting to fit WHEN I get my RRC back from the garage. Any advice appreciated .

What year? You got a pic? Must be later than mine (86) as I had a nice big hole to stick mine straight in.

Sounds like it's the vac accumulator. If it's only got the flexible type low pressure line b it then it is what i thibkbit is, moving it is as easy as marking, cutting and then extending the lines to it with suitable hosing theb bolting. it in where you need to move it to.

So long since I have seen my car (see other thread) I can hardly remember but I'm fairly sure it has solid lines to it, I think I will have to move it as there is nowhere else I can see to mount a second battery, hence the post.

If it'itgot small solid lines to it then from memory it's the brake accumulator for the abs.

    Not fun to move that.

The ABS accumulator is on top of the pump near the brake master if it actually has ABS. The plastic sphere is dead easy to shift, the vacuum hoses may even be long enough to not disconnect them. I'm pretty sure it's only a reservoir for the operation of the heater controls. Other items near the battery tray are the power steering reservoir which just needs a simple flat bracket to move it back a bit, and maybe a few wires. Then a N70 sized battery should drop in nicely.

    Ditto.
It is easy to move and is only for the aircon controls for face to floor. Mine always dropped to the floor going up a big hill at full throttle when it ran out of vacuum.

AFAIK you also have to move the power steering reservoir if it is a 92. I made up a bracket near the end of the battery tray. If you have a tin reservoir change it to a plastic one.
If you have a 93 the cruise control pump is in the battery tray AFAIR.
    Regards Philip A
Hint. You can cut down the radiator top bracket and flip it, which enables you to fit a bigger battery.

Sounds like its not rocket science after all. I have a heap of mods to do once I get a running truck back. My new garage (Canberra motor works) with whom I am most happy are waiting on software to interrogate my after market computer (I had no idea it was as such) so they can fix an over fueling issue. Duel battery is the first, then I want to hard wire in my new compressor, then its winch time! Decided to go with a Runva, probs 11000 lb unless anybody can convince me that this is not a good idea??? Then its a decision, to lift or not to lift??

My money says buy a smaller lighter winch and get a snatch block and extension strap with the savings.

I made a new bracket for the plastic reservoir on my '86 and left it pretty much where it was. I had to make a new bracket to lift the air cleaner above the battery.
