    bonnet stays

    what is it with classics and bonnet stays?

    anyone have a photo of the bonnet stay bracket and where it is attached to the bonnet on an 88 rrc?

    Better still would be a pair of gas struts, elegant and brilliantly effective, Bonus is, more space around the front and you don't burn your fingers when opening a hot bonnet.

    that is how mine is but cant shut the bonnet with it there...

    Something like this maybe? (superquag has seen the real thing)

    If some one fitted them I would appreciate a photo of the installation.
    Looks to me that there is the need to fabricate some bracing or brackets to bring the top of the struts a bit more to the center of the bonnet.
    The bonnet it is far to heavy for the conditions of my wrists and I have to use the elbows to bring it down

    the 88's have the bonnet with torsion bars so they are pretty light compared to the older ones
