    Lowering mid 80's classic seats

Considering an older classic however would have to do something seats about particularly the drivers (height and back issue). Angle can be fixed by a cushion but needs to be lowered ~ 75mm ie a bit more than electrically adjustable seats.

Assuming the seat is similar to the D1 it doesn't look too difficult. Wondering if anyone has done it, is there a normal method etc to minimize engineering hassles.

Does the seat have a seatbelt integrated or in the door pillar?

If in door pillar then it is probably like my 92 seats.

In my 92 RRC Vogue They have an adjustment to lower the front only, but also have about 25MM spacers that can be removed, but no more AFAIK.

IMHO after having Recaros in my RRC and now D2, the 92 seats were about the most uncomfortable seats I have sat in. The top bolster is far too prominent for tall people and bent my shoulders forward. You don't realize until you have good seats then go back.

    Regards Philip A
I don't know about early D1s but late D1s are like D2s and AFAIK cannot be fitted to RRC easily as the seat is integrated with the mounts and the mounts /runners are completely different.

Door pillar type seatbelt. Have seen where a D1 (early) seat can be fitted and that doesn't seem too difficult to lower with cutting the base frame and purpose made brackets. For the finer details foam under a seat cover works well in other applications.
