Thread: Steering column spline difference - changeover date / MY?

Guys, just wondering if anyone knows when the changeover date for the spline change occurred on the steering column.
looking for a boss for my oct1991 build RRC.

I understand there is a 36 and 48 spline version, the earlier being the 36.

luisi & momo etc sell bosses, but the info I am getting is that luisi only fit up to MY86. Anecdotally, I also understand this to be 36 spline boss.

I cannot verify this from my searching posts threads etc. Does anyone actually know exactly when the change is made, or even if I can use a 36 spline boss?
