RRC + 350chev extractors
My RRC has a 350 in it and wanting to put a set of tunned extractors in. Any one know what would work?
I can't afford to get custom ones made. I'm hoping something off the shelf can be modified
Any advise would be grreat

Although they don't look as "schmik" , LKJ Setright did dyno tests many years ago for US HotRod magazine that showed that the humble "Rams horns" exhaust manifolds were just as efficient as several types of extractors.
AFAIK they also fit into RRCs as they hug the block.
Any gains in performance he found to be from the better exhausts that were usually fitted at the same time.
Google Ram horns Chev 350 and you will see lots

Mine came with extractors.
The biggest pain is the amount of heat they put into the engine bay. Stuffs the paint on the middle of the bonnet after awhile.
Stock starter solenoids fail from the heat, etc. Wiring insulation degrades where it is within about 30 cm, etc.

350RRC is spot on with his thoughts.
I have a set of extractors that I picked up S/hand several years ago.
I've std manifolds and the heat produced is a worry and mines a std 3.5 with carbies and dosent have all the add on that later Rangies have.
My brother has had similar issues as 350RRC has mentioned and I'm not convinced the power gains warrent the other problems
Cheers
