looks good, alot of work ahead !
Well some time after starting, this is current progress on 77 2 door. All external body panels are up at Trev's paint in Rene St. Interior trim has been re done by Con at local upholstery place, including a good headliner. Have all engine bits, plus had heads/bottom end reco'd. Just screwing that together now. 9.75:1, Crower 50230, good heads, edelbrock manifold/carb, Petronix dizzy etc. Photos are: Red car was original, engine/gearbox and most accessories coming from that. Using the LT95 plus my old Brown Davis 130L tank (still in great condition). But, after 30 years on coast, Fraser Island/Double island point, cancer too much. Photos are of red car once stripped, going to the knackers yard. The white car has good chassis etc. So that is build car. Bullbar was test of color, was thinking the Commodore SV6 yellow, black interior, etc, should look good. I want solid color. Plan now is to finish engine (rather than having bits everywhere) Do strip of white car, then it goes to Trev. Hope around July for that. Body off, chassis strip, and off for either paint or powdercoat. I have a heap of Britparts (sills etc) to give to Trev for him to have fun with. Final build will use Dakota digital instruments and probably Vintage Air for A/C etc. So maybe in another 18 months/2 years, more photos

True, though good thing is we are not desperate to have it finished. Still got the RRS to drive![]()
Here's one to get some comment. Yellow was one option. But also considering a dark solid blue. Thoughts?
Original!!!!!
Yellow bar looks like industrial hand safety railsGo for blue.
2024 RRS on the road
2011 D4 3.0 in the drive way
1999 D2 V8, in heaven
1984 RRC, in hell
Original...
Or else go for a deep dark colour... use old-fashioned paints, and 42 layers at least. You want reflections so deep that they have a time-delay on the way in & back out !
Haha and brush painted no doubt with rub back to almost gone between every coat! Given money being spent it wont be original color as none of them float my boat paint in that era was pretty drab. I painted it in Porsche Surinam Red back in 1988, but over red now. It will be a color I like. Dark blue is one, but which dark blue?? Assuming painter hasn't already brought the yellow![]()
Ok he hasn't choice of color is still available![]()
