Just wanted to pop in and say hi, as I am pretty sure the last time I was on AULRO regularly was last time I was here in the NT.
My Rangie has come a long way since then and I thought id share whats been done so far.
When I first came here, the ol'girl was pretty much stock. Since then its been lifted, new 285/75R16 shoes fitted with -25 offset 16x8" rims, UHF, Roof racks and awning, home made snorkel, REDARC gauges, dual batterys, compressor with 8L tank, remote central locking, HID lights and 75mm guard extension. Those guard extensions made me cry while was cutting into those guards and doors. I have also made up a set of draws, modified the steel rear bar into a jerry and tyre carrier (currently in BETA mode) and tidied up a lot of the previous owners wiring attempts.
I plan on replacing the exhaust over the coming month and I am going to try to adapt a 140A VW alternator this week, to give me a bit more electron ability IF required. I also have a light bar to wire in and I would like to try and modify a VN Commodore airbox to replace the standard one. And hopefully at some point next year I will give the engine a bit of a freshen up.
I have included a couple of pictures and more will come when time permits, which may be a bit more difficult in coming weeks as my second Rangie-ite comes along.
Hope to spend a bit more time reading forums and commenting in the coming months.
you have a rear wheel that wobbles,
your rear suspension needs better springs shocks and the boaq sorting if you still have it fitted and
your engine is running rich or burning oil when you stick the boot in unless you have retro'd a diesel into it.
best of luck with the new member.

If you've benefited from one or more of my posts please remember, your taxes paid for my skill sets, I'm just trying to make sure you get your monies worth.
If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
While I have a few minutes, I thought I would put some pics up that I took a week or so ago.
Yes you are right, I have been messing around with a swing away style tyre carrier. I'm onto my second go at the tyre side as it sat too high and far out from the back of the car. I have also rejigged it for fitment of a work light. I have found the Jerry can holder side to be as required. It survived the Oodnadata track, painted desert, mereenie loop and palm valley with two full cans. If I could get a straight run of two or so days on it, it could be finished and painted.
Although if I could spent a month on it, I'd probably have only ended up starting new projects.
Enjoy the pics.
More to come as I finish bits..
