Show us your linkage set up
The generosity of AULRO members knows no bounds and thanks again to Meccles who packed, weighed and sent from Queensland an intake manifold and a Holley 350 carbie (plus assorted bits and pieces)
that will eventually replace my original CD 175 Carbies and put an end to those issues
My only cost was postage from Qld to Perth and a promise of one or two beers when he's over in the west ?..thanks? mate.
As instructed I've cleaned and put a kit through the carbie but my issue is linkage related.
Meccles has a sweet set up that he's keeping for his project RRC that utilizes the existing cable set up and pivots behind the Holley carbie ?.being a manual he hasn't the hassle of an auto kick down to contend with as I do.
I've sent a picture of his linkage to various Holley / linkage suppliers but they have nothing similar and no one's eager to make a one off bracket (understandably so) for me.
After much searching on the internet I ordered a linkage bracket that I was assured would fit a 350 2 Barrel carbie and could be used for accelerator cable and kick down cable on an auto.
Well the bracket arrived and to say it will need some modification is an understatement.
I've already cut half the bracket away and with more modification it will probably work, but I will need to source a custom accelerator cable and a possible custom kick down cable for the auto for it to work.
So here's asking ?..If anyone with a Holley on their 3.5 or 3.9 v8's could post me a photo of their linkage set up would be appreciated.
Even if you have a manual that's fine ?.. I've an idea that will hopefully utilize the natural pivoting action of the linkage of the carbie to operate the kick down cable.
Just need to get my head around what others have done and keep to the KISS principle and not overthink it.
Thanks in advance,
Cheers
Baggy
