    Rear cargo area 'protection'

I've been thinking about lining the cargo area of the RRC with some alloy checkerplate...

Yeah, I know - sounds a bit w-ker-ish but it is for protection. I can put the floor carpet back over it if necessary, but the main reason for doing so is to protect the inside a little better.

I also have a couple sheets of formply here, and I know it makes a great protective layer, but it's also quite a bit heavier and more importantly is about 15mm thicker than the checkerplate. It also is quite slippery, which means stuff will slide around without a drawer system etc. I don't want that unnecessary weight

Then I got to thinking... I'll need to dynamat the floor before I put either in.

    Anyone else done this?

Is it a waste of time?

    Hi,
I just pulled out the carpet and put a ute mat, heavy duty rubber, in cut to size. easy and effective, also good sound proof.
    cheers.
