Parts needed for P76 into RRC
Hi All,
I've picked up a P76 4.4L V8 that has come out of a RRC in the past and am planning on using this to replace the old worn out 3.5L in my 1975 2 Door.
The downside is, although the 4.4 has the inlet manifold adapter plates, I have no flywheel or engine mounts for it which as I understand are slightly different to the standard Rover items.
Would anyone please be able to tell me exactly what needs to be done to drop the 4.4 into the RRC and hook it up to the LT95 gearbox? I've heard the mounts need to be changed and the flywheel drilled but would like a bit more information on exactly what's involved.
To pre-empt all the comments I'm likely to get, I know the 4.4 has it's weaknesses and I am planning down the track to rebuild either the 4.4 or the 3.5 but I've already got an apparently running 4.4 sitting here and in the short term I'd like the car back on the road. Please don't tell me just to run out and buy a 4.6 etc. as I'm not made of money and just want to drive the old classic as it was intended, in the bush!
Thanks in advance for your help!
Cheers,
Steve
