Mike .... Looking good and you're on the home straight

Understand your hesitation when you're ready to turn her over however your attention to detail is second to none so I'd expect her to start first time ..... video of the event would be nice

Looking forward to your next post .....

    Cheers

Ok here's where we are. Almost done final tie in at fuse and Dakota Digital instrument controller. Tristan hopes to be done by tomorrow evening but we've heard that before. He's trying to keep the rats nest at fuse box area tidy- which is a tough ask.IMG_2009.jpg

We've kept all the original bullet style connectors for ignition/indicator/horn lights etc switches. The connectors were removed from the original loom and spliced into the new loom. So replacing any switch in future is just plug and play. All wipers etc retain original plug. Tristan has followed as far as practicable the Land Rover wiring but has added relays on all important bits. Things like ignition switch is now relayed so contactors don't see much load.

Do you mean you've added a relay to the ignition switch for starting, or for running? They're supposed to have one for starting, (if the loom hasn't been butchered), so assuming the new relay is for when the engine is running, that's a great idea I wish I'd thought of myself! I'll have to add one or three now . . .
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.

It's for running. In last photo you see two rows of relays on left. He has headlights, ignition plus more all powered by them. Starter is separate. He has set it up to minimise any load to switches plus provide max current to whatever is operated. Got to admit guy is more OCDC than me! All wiring l had run before - removed as he didn't think it was neat enough77 Updateyet all who'd seen it thought it good. You can't see it in photo but loom to gearbox/ center diff lock/handbrake is a work of art in itself.

One thing- all that remains of the original loom is the bullet switch connectors. Every wire from then on - new
