it`s in behind the glove box , just release the arms and drop the lid .

I have swapped one but a few years ago and don`t remember being any dramas so it`s probably straight forward . Ours was the clock spring .

The manual has a pretty involved diagnostic procedure if i remember right .

while your looking there look up the top where the firewall meets the guard bit for any water leaks .

I did a net search for this - "just release the arms and drop the lid" : but found nothing.

The Landy mechanic diagnosed a failed ECU so I bought a reco unit because they couldn't get one. It is too far to go back to him for fitting.

open the glove box and on either side you`ll find a spring loaded arm , you`ll also see a slot on either outer edge .

Reach in with fingers on both side and lift the spring loaded arms upward and the end of the arms will come out through the slots and the lid will drop down , both need doing at the same time .

You`ll see the ECU pretty much central in there .

Putting it back lift the lid with your knee , sort of thing as you locate the arm ends in the slots , same thing both together .

Pretty simple just my description may not sound like it .

... plus the usual cautions.... watch your fingers with the spring-loaded arms, they can bite...and be gentle when you plug/unplug the ECU. You don't want to be responsible for (yet another) 'dry solder joint'.

Everything else in the CC system up to scratch? - perished rubber vacuum hoses are the usual bugbear, bend and twist them all.
Also 'adjustment' on that big vacuum-dump / CC drop-out switch on the brake pedal. This was the most fiddly on mine, needed a smidgeon (= 10 poofteenths... ) more 'depression' which I fixed with a tiny, glasses-frame screw into the plunger's top.

Of course you know that the vacuum pump is hidden under the ...

I'm told that a common failing is... the "DEcrease speed by one MPH" function. - (momentary touch of Lower button.) Long or shrt, mine 'drops out'.
The "INcrease speed by one MPH' normally works (momentary touch of upper button)

Be grateful if either works... throw a party if ALL functions operate as per handbook.

My cc was working, now not. I have checked all usual culprits and thought it could be the ecu. I had hells job finding a "good" used one so I am in the process of adapting an ecu from a D2, AMR 5700. I did some research and found the wiring colours of both units and will be doing the cut and splice tomorrow. I will let you know how things go.

Yes - every thing is working as it should according to the Landy mechanic when he diagnosed the system and determined that the ECU was faulty.

BIkeman. Just for info- TRS in SA stock "reconditioned" ECUs. Mine was around $200 from them.
