    Janspeed 87 classic

Hello I've just bought a 87 classic janspeed turbo Range Rover and I'm going to restore it, yes lots of fun and it will make me broke BUT my dad has had classics his whole life I still remember riding around in the front foot well as a baby in his 2 door . He has 2 soft dash LSE that keep him busy , I was looking for an 85 with no mods bloody hard to find THEN this came up , I never even knew these existed.
The old bloke I got it from has had it since 2001 , he put it on gas , but the tanks are out of date so I want to remove them put back on petrol ( anyone in the Sydney area got a gas tank I could buy) .

Now there's not much info about it so please share if anyone knows about these single turbo janspeeds , google hasn't got much and janspeed UK didn't really care for me . I've tried to upload some pics .
    Many thx Brad

If it runs well on LPG... I'd stay with it. LPG has a way higher octane rating than petrol, so you shouldn't get pinging or detonation as easily.

interesting setup though. Does the turbo only run off 4cylinders ?

Hi Guys thanks for the link (-: will look up rotomaster t4 , there are no other markings on the car , I haven't even seen the car yet picking it up on the 25th the out side is pretty faded , I Carnot wait to get it .
So you think I should keep the gas system , I've never had a lpg car before . I got quotes $330 a tank to get restamped in Sydney there are 3 tanks that blew my mind.

    Welcome to the forum.

Interesting vehicle - I'll be watching this with interest.

I think with the gas they have to pull the tanks out to retest them, so that's probably why it's so expensive, but I'll stand corrected, I'm no fan of LPG on the Rover 8's - I've only ever seen a few that work well enough to bother with, but Shane's point is a valid one regarding the octane rating of LPG and it's suitability for forced induction vehicles. If it runs well on gas, then it may pay to leave it and enjoy it while it does.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

Hi mate, Graeme Cooper in St Peters has an 80 litre oval tank. Not sure of cost. This is mine, keeps the original fuel tank.
