I haven't seen an Australian delivered car with the code display fitted I think it was just a Northern America spec thing.
I do have a kit at home to fit one to a classic, comes as a little box with a display and tells you what pins to tap into on the ecu plug for it.
Apart from that its a fairly simple setup and very easy ECU to plumb into a car, shouldn't take long to trace the check light and see if its good or not or check basic outputs on the ECU.
