    Springs

Hi, I have an 81 2 Door which I would like to return to stock ride height.
Present it is 1" over on ARB springs
Specs Front: Twin batteries. ARB steel bar, With Warn 8000lb High mount winch. And also runs a 300tdi Diesel
Rear: Stock but with no ride leveller.
Was looking through red90 spring charts lots of choices for confusion, would like L/R springs, thought
maybe NTC8477 Front , stock Disco Rear Any thoughts? Using stock Armstrong shocks.
    Joe

Don't stuff around - speak to Les Richmond Automotive in Thomastown. What they don't know about RRC suspension isn't worth knowing. They will know straight up what you need based on what you have bolted to it and they'll have the correct springs on the shelf ready to go.

I have a set of stock 81 2 door springs that weigh about the same as a case of Lowenbrau.

    cheers, DL

    G'day Trumpy

In a more rational moment I realise that there is no way you'll get stock ride height with your added weight up front.

Gav is on the money............ talk to LRA.

Contacted LRA could not give any advice, as most requests are to go up not down, but said could probably do, if I left car with them to sort out. Live outside Ballarat so will leave as is for a while and work on other bits first, like getting air con back in was my better half's suggestion. Probably right been quite hot recently!
    Thanks Joe

Joe if you want standard height with the weight of a bullbar you would probably need 150lb/inch green stripe springs. I can't remember the free length. It works for me. These springs are original standard rear springs. I got some from Roverparts and made by Britpart. I have some on my RRC with no bar, 130lb/inch front ( blue stripe) and 150s (Green stripe) on back. I can't say that the ride is exactly as I remember the corresponding OEM ones were. They seem a bit firmer.
i am a bit surprised that LRA with all their experience couldn't help you. There is a list somewhere on the internet of all the oem and aftermarket springs available for RRC with lengths and rates.
PM me if you want to talk or I could send you the list.

Is the list the one compiled by red90? Have seen and thought maybe NTC8477 150lb Gr/Blu/yellow on front and NRC8044/8055 for rear. But think it will all be very hit and miss, will check out local ARB store and see Shawn at Rover parts for some more advice. Thanks
