This is what happened to the last lse I sold to a guy who was going to put a 4bd1 in it, we even lifted the body off on my hoist to make the job easier! Never to be back on the road now!😠
I do have a Lotto ticket this week, so watch this space (I wish). Would be great to have an unmatched pair of soft and hard dash diesel LSEs.
I suspect this one is one of the first to make it to the Antipodes?

Probably, as it was on display at the Landrover stand at the Sydney Motor Show in 1993. March, I think. It was built in December 1992. As I understand it, there was a batch of 5 or 7 that came in as a special build. Standard Vogue LSE (3.9, EAS, TC on rear wheels, five spoke painted alloys) stuff plus birdseye maple dash & door trim, matching rear tables and "cocktail cabinet", custom centre console with rear aircon and Mosswood paint. Interior was standard brown leather trim. I understand this build pushed the price up to about $120k. It was kept by the managing director for six or so months and sold to my mate in late 1993. I've known the car since then and bought it from him in 1996.

Hi Ron. Do we have to resurrect the thread of things to do on the way to Wombat?

    The LSE may rise again

    Good news all,
Much to my surprise, a week ago I was contacted by a forum member whose son was looking for a project car, specifically an LSE to convert to diesel for use as a camping vehicle. Despite spending an hour or so with them poring over the car trying to discourage them, they remained keen and made a perfectly reasonable offer. They saw the car at its worst as I had started dismantling it and had removed the sound system and other bits. Spent the following three days putting it all back together, fixing a few things and filling it with spare parts etc and giving it a wash and vacuum. Almost tempted to keep it!
They collected it this morning and Harry is determined to have it all sorted and running by Christmas. He's already lined up his mates to help and has promised to post his progress on this forum. Harry's happy, I'm happy, and you lot should be happy, too!
Apologies to those who have PM'd me for parts. I had just been too busy to start dismantling it. Just as well, I suppose; I never expected this outcome.

Another one saved is very good news. Thanks for letting us know.
At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.
