I love those seats.
They have a little more padding and comfort than the recaro racing buckets in the Megane.
Just what you need in a Rangie![]()

I think they will be lower I reduced height of original seat base by about 20mm plus these seats have height and tilt function-won't know for sure until all bolted in place but yes intent was a bit lower
These were a fleabay find 40k on them cheaper than recaros and about same as getting my original classic seats which had been modified by Allan "Swampy" Marsh back in 88 rebuilt. I fitted seat belts in B pillar.
Nice seats.
I would be interested in any photos you have of lowering the seat base. And any alterations to runners etc to accommodate the new seat.
My early 80's RRC has all seat belt mounts on the seat itself, which I don't like. I'm guessing you've started with the same - any photos of what you have done?
I have the shell of a late 90's Disco 1 which has the B-pillar mount system. The top mount (adjustable) is pretty much a pan formed out of thin steel plate spot welded into the pillar. The bottom mount is a simple bracket spot welded to the floor and column. Given the old RRC B-pillar looks identical then to me it would seem relatively straight forward to swap over, with a bit of cut, nick and tuck. Anyone done this?
Workingonit it you start at beginning of 77 update thread photos of b pillar mods are there. We cut slots in pillar and welded into place inserts to bolt seat belt mounts to. Got them for engineering cert. re bases they are at paint shop getting re coated after all mods so once back will take some photos.
Ok seat bases we cut "spine" of the originals where rollers/square mounting blocks fitted. Welded 50mmx50mmx6mm angle in place plus 4x HT 10 counter sunk bolts that go right through original adjuster square holes. Stronger than original I'm sure
