Help please - EAS Compressor won't turn on 95 soft dash

    G'day Guys,

Just trying to get the EAS reinstalled on my soft dash. I've fitted new air springs, rebuilt the compressor and the valve block.

but I can't get the compressor to run in auto mode.

I can run it with the EAS Unlock suite and get it to height but when I unplug the computer every time I turn the car off it gets lower and lower until after 4 shut downs it's on the bump stops.

I've tested the pressure switch and it's open circuit as it should be.

I've tested the high temp cut out on the compressor and it's closed circuit as it should be, and the fuses and relays are ok. And I can run it by jumping #1 and #8 pins on the ECU plug.

    Any ideas anyone??

    G`day ,

after you`ve pumped it up and have height , unplug it pull the fuse , whatever .

It should stay where it is forever pretty much .

If it still lowers there is a leak etc and if not the electricity is making it lower .

Are there any codes showing and if so what are they .

Something basic like not having the door shut will stop the compressor from functioning .

    Update

So I've got a work around.

I've fitted a toggle switch between wire #1 and #8 to manually operate the compressor. So you flick the switch when you get in the car and she self levels to the correct height.

I'm thinking I'm not getting the engine run signal to the ECU. I'll head over to my electrician mate and I'll get her to test and make sure I'm getting the correct signal. I don't have that equipment at home for pre OBDII vehicles.

So working for now but I'll have to dick around some more and get it working properly.

Still open to comment if anyone has experience something like this before.

Alternqtor supplies tachometer signal to dash, and engine speed signal to eas comes from multifunction unit/ dash.

    MSD maybe

I’ve got an MSD ignition on mine and had to fit an amplifier to get it to work. Maybe that might be an issue but I’ll diagnose it step by step. The tachometer is working fine so maybe not the issue

Having the door shut inhibits the system from leveling .

Won`t stop the compressor from running in fact the door should be open untill the tank fills .

    Sorry about that .

For auto the engine has to be above 500rpm

The Exhaust valve solenoid has to be closed , maybe why it drops .

The valve block driver if faulty can be a cause .

When you had the driver off valve block did you check for any discolouration in the stuff that`s melted into it .

I have one here thats is discoloured and it doesn`t work also have a computer that thought it was at the highest setting all the time and showed the orange dash light but does every thing else as it should .

Have a soft dash box valve block etc and loom in the shed if you have a specific wire goes where also a hard dash box etc looms still on car .

The block drivers in the soft dash and the P38a are the same thing as in a removable unit .

The hard dash driver and block are one unit and the solenoids are also different in size .

Hello, Can you install a soft dash air suspension loom into a hard dash? I want to drive a P38 valve block and driver on a 93

As far as I have seen there is only one difference between the Hard and Soft dash EAS systems. The soft dash is more P38 than hard dash and the pressure sensor is on the valve block in a softy and not on the air tank like the hard's.

So to run the P38 valve block on a hard - it might just be a plug and play. Your loom will have the pressure switch on the tank not the valve block, so no need to plug the pressure switch on the valve block in. I think it should work.

(But from the original post and issue I had - It was the compressor and I successfully reinstated the EAS into my softy before I sold it)

(I'll have to update my profile pic to my L322)
