Thanks very much Shane. We will crack on with the swap over next week.

If it works, I'd stick with it ........................... Unless I travelled any distance towing. I reckon towing the block of flats through the mountains killed mine (ie: lots of load and winding it from lock to lock to lock to lock .... etc.... for probably 20minutes straight through windy steep roads). thousands of kms from home I'd want something that is far less likely to break and leave me stranded

Someone on here advised me to get some bolts and cut the head off them to help with lining it up (it downright bloody impossible to line the transfer case up unless you have some guides to help line it up.

You either love.... or passionately hate them. NO middle-ground.
Yes, they run quieter, Yes they 'work' seamlessly especially in beach sand, and Yes, save the embarra$$ment of 'not' locking(LT230) when you need 'locked'... But when they die, Re$$urection is expansive. A funeral with the LT230 is cheaper.
People who like them say "The Drive-line (output shaft) FUSE is blown"
Haters use Industrial Adjectives and give the Swear Filter a work-out....
The Yet-to-be-Decided simply ask Questions, till they do their $ums...
99% of VC's fail in the locked mode. The other 1% are never noticed as they are never taken off-road, so that car has a QUIET and drive-line sparing, tarmac-safe, All Wheel Drive.
