    Scuttle Filter Replacement

    Hi All,

I want to replace the filters inside the scuttle on my '90 RRC. I have the filters, but I haven't been able to work out how to remove the plastic on the front of the scuttle.

    Capture.jpg

Eg - in the above picture that I found, it looks easy...

I have removed the 2 triangular clips at each end of the scuttle - but I can't work out how to remove the plastic grill/cover?

Once removed I will probably re-paint the plastic grill/cover to give it a tidy up.

Any idea how to remove it - I don't want to get rough and break anything...

    Cheers,
    GG.

Never heard of a scuttle filter ................... I'll have a look tonight. I pulled them off after removing the scuttle though. They will be brittle on most aussie cars and most likely break I'd imagine if you pry them.

Thanks Shane - I am hoping that I don’t have to remove the entire scuttle. Looking at the original post, th pic shows that it should come off.. Scuttle Filter Replacement

Between each grill bit there is a flat bit of plastic secured by an intergral plastic clip - you can see on that pic the small bits of plastic with 1 and 2 small points on them. You can see the white plastic inserts in the scuttle that match these. The side retainers have 1, the middle 2 retainers have 2.

They are hard to remove and will break. I reinstalled mine with some self drilling screws. Can take a pic in the morning.

They have a small ridge near each corner on the longest edge. They are pushed in over that ridge and are clipped in through the scuttle,Push down on the edge and they will pull out..
