    Search for Grandfathers Range Rover.

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has ever gone on a mission to find an old family car or mabey the first car they owned and how they went about it. I understand how long a shot the mission may be but gonna give it a crack.

This has been done successfully in the past. I (or someone with a better memory than me) will try and find a link to the story.

A previous owner of my POS found mine just walking past where I used to live in Queenscliff with his wife, while on holiday.

    He recognised the plates.

Had a good chat............ he put the Chev in it to tow a van around Oz for a couple of years, doing 180,000 kms. From all that I could piece together how many k's the motor has done (up towards 700 thou).

    cheers, DL

Yep, it's been done. Use as many outlets as possible to get the info out there - Forums, Faceplant, etc. If you have photos, location where it used to be, old rego or VIN info, etc - this will all help.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

Thanks homestar I think that is some solid advice. I will start gathering info. If I can at least establish the year model and anything that set that car apart from other models I might be able to look at getting the same one but it would be fantastic to find her in someone's backyard who didn't want her anymore....one can dream.
