Well after seeing the launch of the new "offender" RRC owners should feel relieved. Prices just went up. [wink11][tonguewink][bigrolf]

You can mount a winch on the L322 legally, unfortunately I'm with you on the lack of a "complied'' bulbar is a big problem. Some have adapted the D3 as below, at own risk. There are 2 winch locations for the L322 without the bulbar;

I saw the youtube clip from topgear. That couldn't have missed the point by a larger margin if they tried. Defender == tractor. Simple, robust, easy to fix ... exceptionally good offroad where it belongs.
So they build an electronics filled hideous piece of ****. The "look at me" brigade will sadly love it. I bet they sell millions (99.99% of which will never see an unsealed road).
I have no doubt it'll be a huge success from a marketing point of view... I have zero ambition of EVER owning one.

What you talkin' about Willis?[smilebigeye]
The same ones that wear RM Moleskins, check shirt & Pony Club elastic sideds?
Yep, thems the ones.[biggrin]
I think we’re in Lala Land to even think JLR we’re going to build a simple “tractor” which they have to keep selling for at least next 10-15 years. I hated the 90 but the 110 wasn’t too bad. Let’s get real no new product from any manufacturer is going to be sans modern electronics. I have a GAP IDD tool for my RRS it’s essential piece of kit fixes and diagnoses any errors way quicker than I could with spanners. I liked the petrol straight 6 option [emoji3]
It comes down to pricing. If its inexpensive they WILL sell millions of them. Every middle aged women will **need** one for the supermarket and school carpark [bigrolf] I'm betting they are brilliant offroad ... though maybe not so much for us suckers that will be trying to fix and repair one when they are 30years old [bighmmm]
I'm not one to be swayed by marketing and Press Release hype and Bullsh*
Every single youtube "car reviewer" has cleverly aligned and almost verbatim quoted the same sentences with respect to two static display examples that NOONE HAS DRIVEN
and you can bet that there will be nothing other than "favourable" reviews from those same people because they are not John Cardogan (cynic but fair) and they really fall for the hype and BS because their job is hype and BS.
This is where real journalistic credibility has failed the public and why absolutely none of it is believable anymore.
Unless LR put their product out for unbiased review to anyone who wants to review one, there's no way in hell I'm going to randomly side with some media idiot telling me how good it is based on a spec sheet and a static display in a carefully chosen backdrop.
The time has come for me to LREXIT.
It will come down to 2 things both of which JLR haven’t been great at - price and reliability.
