2 Door - Window Removal and interior mirror

    Hi All,

As part of the strip down of my 1976 2 Door (another thread which I will update on Monday) - I'm stuck on a few things....

I have removed the rear head lining
I have removed the rear (outside) C-pillar.. (The interior trim for the C-pillar doesn't exist)
I have removed the rear seat
I have removed trim on the B-pillar
I have removed the FRONT (SLIDING) rear windows
I have removed the 5 x bolts that hold in the lower section of the rear window chrome strip.
But for the life of me - I can't work out how to remove the rear-rear (non sliding) window..

I'm also stuck on the interior mirror... On my Perentie (and Freelander I think) you just slide the mirror arm towards the rear of the car, and then you remove 2 x screws that are in the plate that goes over the head lining..

The same trick doesn't work on the 2-Door... I have pulled until I think that something is going to break..

    Any ideas?

    Cheers,
    Grey Ghost
PS - I will update my other thread on Monday with pictures once I get to work and have a better internet connection...

Grey Ghost - ok mirror has spring loaded latch I think it’s supposed to come off in an accident but with force it comes out . I think from memory spring latch is at rear google a picture and you’ll find it. The rear side windows have you removed the rubber filler strips on inside of rear window surround rubber? They’re like the windscreen rubber but on inside. Once they’re removed then glass can be pushed out - very carefully. Just had this done on my car and a very good panel beater and I - got a glazier in who knew what he was doing and didn’t break anything. Just a suggestion

    Hi Meccles,

Yes - I removed the inner retaining strip from the windows... I also removed the 1 x bracket (with a screw in it) on the bottom... But so far - no luck. Somebody suggested that I remove the leading edge (black rubber strip) from the sliding window, and then you can slide the window forward and out... But that rubber strip is held on really, really tight..
