Brake reservoir - cheap nasty seals

As usual, the effort to save a just couple of dollars during construction has resulted in another stupid failure of a couple of minor components.

The brake reservoir and the master cylinder are merely jammed together with rubber seals just waiting for failure. Of course, replacement seals are unavailable. You have to buy a complete plastic tank pre-fitted with seals at $135 a go. That is absurd when the seals themselves are worth less than a dollar - and this on a vehicle that cost around $50 grand when new

Is it any wonder Land Rover has such a poor reputation?

Has anyone got a replacement reservoir with seals in good condition to sell? My vehicle is a 91 and anything from about 87 to 93 should fit If so, please call 0248 433073 - glad to pay

I have two with the seals and sensor in place and they look in good condition to me. Happy to send you the better one.

Oh. Hang on. You mean where it sits on the master cylinder. My fault for not reading your post properly. I reckon I may have one or two reasonable seals, too. I'll rummage around. Yes, they do perish, but after thirty or so years I'd be perishing a bit, too!

Looks like I have four seals. These are from later classics with the WABCO system with traction control. I still have a spare master cylinder (correctly called the Hydraulic Booster Unit or Modulator Assembly), so I should hang on to two of them.
    Do these look right?Seals.jpg

Sincere thanks but I have already found and ordered replacement seals on Ebay - supposedly OEM quality for $56 delivered. They should arrive tomorrow so I can be mobile again.

    Best regards
