    Air conditioning thermostat 1988 RRC

I have purchased a new thermostat for the air conditioning in a 1988 Range Rover. I have installed it and the compressor doesn't cut in and out when it on the coldest setting, it just keeps running. If I put the heat lever in the middle position between hot and cold the compressor does cut in and out. I think it has something to do with the cut in and cut out adjustment screws on the thermostat, does anyone know how I should adjust this? I measured the temperature of the air conditioning core with my temp gun and it read around 0 degrees.

One thing I recal from long ago is that you do not have the thermostat bulb touching the fins in the evaporator.

A thermostat is just a switch so you can test by trial and error . turn the screw the other way and see what it does.

I recall I replaced mine once with one out of Sigma that didn't have working air. It worked a treat.

They sometimes have a knob on the outside which changes cut in cut out.
