RRC Bull Bar mounts and brackets

Alright so I am going over the bull bar which I believe it's an ARB for my Rangie George to start cleaning it up a little to paint it and I have noticed some brackets on the back of it.
I was hoping some of you guys could help shed some light on what these might be for.
I have attached a pic and circled them to help as I haven't seen these on a bar before.

    and the front of it

    Thanks for that Larry
I didn't think of the lower apron but it makes sense now

I think that bullbar predates the spoiler as it doesn't wrap around the corners.
IIRC, earlier cars had a plastic flap type deflector fitted around that area.

As others have mentioned, that particular bar is for the pre-EFI models. Double check the mounting as it may be different.

The brackets that you have circled are for the driving lights that were a option at the time. For the models with the spoiler (option for early EFI versions, then standard from approx 88 on) the boxes the driving lights mounted in secured to them when the standard bumper was removed to hold the spoiler in place.

When I first got mine it was set up that way. Unfortunately I don't have a pic available to show it.

The ARB winch bar I am modifying also has these. Have considered mounting the winch solenoid there.

    Thanks mate.
Mine is an 88 model as this bar came with it when I bought it as it was removed by the previous owner so I'm yet to have it mounted on George but it is getting closer slowly.

Might have been on the cusp of new design. The car will look different with it back on and to be honest they almost look wrong without them. Don't get me wrong, a standard bar RRC is a beautiful thing, but - in Australia at least - most of them you see have a ARB or similar style bar on them.

Il be changing my standard ARB bar for a modified ARB winch bar that I have removed the hoops from. The car will have weekend duties and occasional trips, so prefer to have some degree of protection up front.
