What goes here in your market??

Hello gents, I yanked the rubber door bumpers from my classic and was dismayed to find this orifice on the rear quarter:

as far as I can tell, the North American market never had anything but moulding over this. The pattern doesn’t match that of the reflector on the front quarter. I’ve found one photo of a stripped rangie with a red reflector there, but it was probably some universal piece of kit taped on.

Ive checked with some folk in the EU market, no such luck. Any ideas down south?

It looks like an indicator repeater mount to me.

Of that I’m all but certain, but I’d love an OEM part number if one exists.

there’s a defender piece which would work, but I’d have to tape it on or drill new holes, and I’m quite perturbed by the existing holes to be honest

One purpose for that hole in the body work is as the side anchor point for a TWR bodykit. This wrap-around bodykit option replaced the standard bumpers and was fitted to a short-term MY'93 "SSE" model released in Australia. Attached is the Australian brochure for this model. I own an SSE model (with the bodykit still attached) and I can confirm that there is indeed a bolt with a nut on the end running through this hole.

You might also find this website useful as it provides both OEM part numbers and a more global summary of the bodykits. The classic Range Rover with TWR bodykit, or 'Brooklands bumpers' - De Autoboerderij

The part numbers provided on the website link above (which I have not validated) are:
    BTR4573P – Front Spoiler
    BTR4574P – Rear Apron
    BTR4575P – Sill Mouling, LH
    BTR4576P – Sill Mouling, RH

Of course, the TWR Bodykit may be only one of the accessories that utilise that aperture.

Well there you go. Looks Like I don't know every permutation.

How many SSEs were sold in Australia. I reckon very few.

Apparently only 50 according to the brochure. Although I don't think they were that popular at the time as the soft dash was just around the corner so I wouldn't be surprised if they couldn't shift them all.

I’ve gone down the brooklands/TWR/SSE road. Even found that particular website. While I love the kit, that mounting hole I’m sure wasn’t designed for the kit, but rather utilized for the kit.

I think this D08070 part is the golden goose!!!! Notice how the square holes are not quite equidistant to the larger hole on the fender? That is also true for the part pictured.

    genius.

    now to find a seller.

    You guys are the best

EDIT: can’t find any pics. Wonder if they’re red or amber
