    Electrical issues - 93 LSE

    Hi all

Im sure it’s been answered before, I have a 93 LSE with electrical issues (horn not working, hazards, interior light, sunroof, drivers seat, highbeam flash) - all happened when i removed a CB radio and power brakes, I’ve checked all fuses including those under the seats, and swapped relays out with another working car. No change. also checked fuses have power coming to them.

I read up about the MFU being an issue, some forums say behind the fuse panel, others under the steering column, someone also said its near the battery of the main harness, which i cant find also, its all wrapped up.

I must be blind as hell cause I can’t see anything and I’ve been looking for a module with AMR1280 on it too. Nothing.

Does anyone know where it is or have pictures.

    Cheers TIA

    Sounds annoying.

    Have a look at this

Seems the AMR 1280 is a Multi Function Unit (MFU) and is behind the fuse panel, is quite a big unit and seems to plug in.

    Good luck with the problem.

unbolt the fuse panel from the facia panel in front of the drivers knees, its mounted to the back of that.

your also ran is corrosion inside the fuse panel having burnt through tracks. it can be repaired by prying apart and soldering on wire of the appropriate size across the track runs.

    Thanks guys,

but researching more it seems the MFU is only for soft dash’s? Cause I can’t find it in my hard hard, nothing behind the fuse panel but wires going to the main harness.

most links I see or read are for classics with soft dashes. Hence all the eBay listing for the disco /RRC part.

ill go back to the basics and clean all connections of doors and see where all the extra wires are going to and from, cancel them out if needed.

    cheers

well had similar issue with D1, no indicators, radio, some other things, started and ran fine. I removed battery terminals, might as well give them a good clean, then reconnect.
Somehow this reset the ECU and fixed the problem.
