Thread: Oil Pump Measurement

Does anyone have this measurement for the oil pump on a 1988 RRC with the 3.5 litre engine.

I need to measure from the face of the oil pump gears to the face on the oil pump cover. I plan on putting some Plastigauge on the gears and bolting the oil pump down to get the measurement.

I can’t find this in any of the manuals I have. I have two oil pump gaskets, one is 0.18mm, the other is 0.30mm. I am not sure which one to use. I don’t want the oil pump gears eating away the oil pump, but I also need it close enough to give sufficient oil pressure.

Yes, this manual has the measurement I need. It states,

"Gear to cover face minimum clearance 0.05mm ........... 0.002in"

I have it set at 0.0035in.
