Range Rover Axle question (yes another one....)

    Hi Guys,
My 93RRC (ex air suspension, abs and etc fitted) Has 10 splines in the rear. The front Has defender style front drive flanges.

So am i correct in assuming it has the smaller front CV's and a 24 spline front diff?

Is it possible to have a 24 spline outer axles and 10 spline inners on the front end of a range rover?

Is the rear 10 spline correct for this car (vin is KA623622) or has it had the rear diff and axles changed?

Would it be worthwhile changing to 24 splines in the rear if i was to fit a trutrac?

Is it viable to install 24 spline spiders and and axles rather than taking a punt on a second had diff? as the diffs in my car are very quite and have bugger all backlash.

    thanks in advance guys

    Luke

Sounds like a standard set up to me. Rangies ran this from day 1. To get fine splines in you will need post 93 disco diffs and shafts. Or install lockers and After market axles. If you are going for any lockers or gear drive diffs fine spline are a must. It would be also good to use Pre 82 CV's. Will require machining and a bush. Some use county CV's wich are strongest but are more expensive when they go Bang
Not sure if 24 spline spiders fit 10 spline rangie diffs. I think the carier bearigs are larger. If you do any of this your CWP's will have to be set up again.
Depends on budget and intended use how you go about this one.
    Cheers RR.

Rangies had the same CV's till pre 88 not 82

The late smaller CV's are 32 spline not 23 spline

If you change your CV's, you will render your ABS useless

Wouldn't bother changing spider gears, buy some diffs complete...Not in Vic are you, I got some 24 spline diffs complete

Whats the life expectancy of the smaller cv's with a 4.6 and 33"s? I dont really want to loose the ABS.

Would love those 24 spline diffs but im in perth.

Im pretty easy on it. I got sick of changing diffs and cv's in my 86. I did do a lot of rock hopping in the old girl tho.
