    3.5 power with 33" rubber

    Hey guys,

I run 33" rubber on my Rangie, which has a 3.5 Carbi LPG system now fitted with a LT95.

On low down stuff, and speeds of up and around 80kph, she runs really well, plenty of power. As soon as I start hitting the 90+kph, the RPM needle wont go above 2000rpm, like it doesnt have enogh power for the fast pace riding. Is this normal? On 1st through to 3rd, can get 3000rpm (wont push it past this tho), but on 4th it just struggles to get to 2000rpm.

I figure theres nothing wrong with the setup, that all thats needed is more CC's! But if this doesnt sound right to you, let me know.

Aside from this little issue, she runs great. A big thanks to JustinC for the work hes done on it

    I don't have a rev counter so can't comment on the rev's.
I have 31"s and my RRC runs up to and over 100, (it suprised me too)

Do you mean you get to 100 or so and there isn't much poweer when you get there or you can't get to 100-ish at all?

If it's the latter then something is wrong.
If you jus don't have a lot of power at higher speeds, well.....
    me either

Our old gals are getting on a bit

Maybe a daft question but have you had your speedo verified as running 33"s will knock your speedo out quite a bit, I'd guess at 10-20k @ 100-ish

Putting 33's on a stock 3.5 is like putting size 12 gum boots on a baby and telling it to run!

X2, my 3.5 EFI 87 Rangie with 33's and std gearing was crap, then fitted the 4.11's and although not a road rocket, it's still manageable. The 3.9's seem to handle it a bit better with stocko gearing.

What I mean is that I can get to 100 fairly easily, but after that I dont get much response from the motor. So I think your right, Ive just buggered the ratios up and cant expect much from that.

But apart from that, she goes great, especially in the bush where its at
