Spin off thread from 'show us etc' re:seat spacers
for the tall among us it a relatively simple job, at least on the '88 model i've got. i did however replace the standard allen key bolts with some hex head items from the spares box that only had a minimal shank on them and slipped a flat washer 'twixt each runner and the plinth to allow clearance for the locking pegs to 'bite' cleanly and accumulation of fag ash etc to be cleaned out. it was also necessary to slightly modify the plastic plinth valance by cutting a little away at the rear because the newly lowered chair fouls it when sliding back to the mandatory furthest aft position.
i'm still not 100% happy with the chairs as i have VERY long thighs so once winter sees me free to play around a bit i might look at ditching them entirely and replacing with 'the one chair to rule the world' i.e. the early model woolen covered peugeot 505 items i have fitted to various cars over the years. the one thing the frogs have always excelled at is seating arrangements and the 505 throne was quite simply the best of the best. obviously the ergonomic 'norm' the design was based on was, somewhat like our own life be in it norm, a fellow of ample proportion in the nether regions. therefore for a bony-bum like me with long legs that need to be splayed to conform to the distance between seating position and pedals the thigh support normal seats offer is often lacking.

I cant for the lifge of me see any way to lower my seats on the 85 Rangie. I think its maybe not possible in this model.
Funny you mention the Peugeot's. I have had numerous pugs in the past, 3 or 4 504's, a 505, and a 307. The 505 is the most comfortable seating in any car ive driven, so I agree with you there.
I suppose it doesnt really bother me that much about the seat height on the Rangie, I can live with it for now.
