    Fuel tank leaks

Just 5 days before my return to the "big island" the fuel tank started to leak from the seams (at the back)
I hope that I can find a 1988 tank in a good condition in Melbourne before heading north to Qld.
The engine is 3.5 FI and every time that started cold runs in 7 cylinders. When hot runs smooth Looks like that a spark plugs change is on the cards
Apart from that I am very pleased with the Rangie and I am looking forward to many thousands of kilometers of enjoyment in the future.
I cross the "pond" on the 18/4 heading to Chelsea.

    Cheers

When you get on the ferry make sure it isn't leaking. Try having minimal fuel in the tank. Otherwise they might knock you back.

My D1 has a leak at the moment too but I haven't bother dropping the tank to find it yet. Just use LPG

If the tank is leaking from a cracked seam rather than a loose gasket or puncture you could try POR 15 tank sealant this sort of product is used in aviation fuel tanks.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Thanks Diana, the dealer of POR15 is just about 200 meters from Stooge home (where I am staying) so I will call tomorrow. POR15 paints are the best in the market for steel boats & yachts. It is a very good product.

Thanks for your offer, i believe that you are going to the West coast with Stooge (my son) Justin, Tim, Mark and other members of the local LR community. They are a fantastic group of people and they become a good friends.
How much you are asking for the tank? PM Stooge if you can because he is on the net more than me.
    Cheers

I'll be there the morning of the 17th, but will be hanging in the north and meeting everyone in Zeehan Friday, your probably better off using POR15 tomorrow, that way it'll be fixed buy the time you leave although the drying time before putting in the sealer can take a while
