EFI change over to a Carbied enine?

    Hey guys,

Currently I have a 84 carbied engine sitting right next to my 88 EFI.

Looking at them both, seems the rocket covers will have to be swapped over with the EFI...

But I was wondering what else & if anyone has done this before?
Also anything I should look out for?

    Cheers

FYI, you can't legally put an older engine into a newer car. Pollution laws. Having said that, we pulled the fuel injection of a Rover SDI and threw a set of carbs on. I don't remember any difference with the rocker covers though. The rocker covers on my 98 look the same as those on the 83 and 84's sitting around here though.

The inlet ports need to be filed/die grinderered for the injectors

The EFI wiil fit the 84 donk with a grind. However it is likely High compression and the heads not suited for ULP. It should be fine with your curent EFI setup and use flash lube or Valve saver. Should pass ok as you are useing all emission gear off current engine. Well I have done itTony

They're alloy heads, they all suit gas

Gas Thats my main drama now Gas and blowers dont mix in some opinions. I was thinking of valve guides in early Rovers. Are they the same Tony

    Is this correct??

Petrol-fuelled Range Rovers were fitted with carburetors until 1986, when they were replaced by Lucas electronic fuel injection, improving both performance and fuel economy.

Just to be clear here - I want to put my efi manifold on to the valley of this 84 model V8.
I went out side now just to check, the inlet ports on both engines seem to be the same size, & I just lifted & flipped over
the EFI manifold - saw the ports but the injectors are not poking out of it to slide in to the inlet ports on the 84 engine or anything.

Its just the manifold ports matching to the inlet ports in the valley - which seems to be a none issue???

if I was trying to fit injectors in to a carbie manifold lol that would be a problem... or am I missing something?

Just notch the intake ports so injected manifold off your curent one fits up. I have one here apart so if I get time will take a pic for you to see what it should look like.
