some more pics from the interior of the Rangie , it's cleaned up a bit now, The centre console is made by Karl.
on top of the centre console behind the electric window switches sits a Waeco cooler which plugs into 12 volts cigarette lighter outlet, The CDL gear lever had to be extended to cater for the 2 inch lift hence the vinyl fabric ,it's stapled around the inside of the square cut out , but I 'll have to make another one as it's not long enough ( sorry mark )
I'll pull the driver's seat off tomorrow , resolder one of the ECU wires and electric tape it and cut out more Rust.

I spent all of last Sunday , painting the driver's side of the Rangie's Floor ,Why , I hear you ask ?
well.....i don't know , something to do
seriously thou , I did this to stop any further rusting of the metal surface as I intend to keep the Rangie for as long as I possibly can
now,Pulled out the Wabco ABS module as it's inoperative.and please don't ask me for the ABS and all the Fruit ,it 's going to one of the members of AULRO. no names mentioned
Stripped the floor and used a circular wire brush thingy on the end of Cordless Drill and took off some of the rust with it and then applied the Rust Remover with a brush and hit it again with the wirebrush so it got rid of almost all of the bad rust .
Deoxidiser and Rust remover
once floor was clean and I was quite happy with it I applied 1 Coat of etch primer , that stuff dries really quick too , and after about 30 minutes
Well There you have it.
Acrylic painted with a Brush , "Plymouth Blue" , colour matched , looks slightly different because I used a Flash , but looks almost identical to the Rangies panels, but nevertheless it's not going to be seen as it will be covered by carpet.
but Job's not Done yet, will have to do the Driver's side tomorrow and then relocate the ECU to where there won't be any water ingress remove everything else out of the car and paint the rest of the interior .
Did most of it here. Took it into local spray booth for clear and now has a few runs
Running gear is all done. Other than above... Have to trim, paint and fit flares (Also violet) get or make front and rear bars.
Does your sunroof leak like my 89 model? The water comes in through sills after drain tubes off sunroof drop water into the A pillers
Seems to have similar rust on floor to yours.
Tony
I've only spotted this thread today - nice Rangie, well done! I did notice one thing - and I don't mean to be a nark, but your rear rego plate is obscured by the rear wheel carrier... I know, I know 'big deal and all that' but some zealot from the Poh-leece or RTA might offer you a $320 odd fine with 3 points plus a defect notice if he/she's a bit grumpy. The reg's say it's got to be visible/legible 'to a distance of 20 metres at all angles to 45 degress up and across'. I saw you're in the Hills district and I know an 'enthusiast' or two out your way...
Just a heads up mate, looks like you're already having fun with it
Matt.
[QUOTE=Disco_owner;821585]hi Tony;
but i noticed that the sponge matt on the floor was wet
yhea l removed mine at the same time and haven't noticed the difference at all...apart from the sopping wet mess when ever it leeks but know it runs straight out the drain holes and the carpet dries in no time
cheers
Nice RR..needs a couple of front recovery points.....those fixed shackles would look cool on that BBar....
Hi Matt , Thanks for the heads up , just been one of those really annoying things for me to complete from the to-do-list to move the Rego number plate, I've only had the Rangie for short period but have a stack of things done so far , so no excuses.

Hi mate; moved the sponge Mat out of the car today and left it in the sun to Dry, but will have to take it out again this saturday again and leave it to completely dry , I have found several holes without grommets on the fire wall so I'm off to Clarks rubber this weekend to buy a few different sizes and plug the holes
Thanks Dawg ,I know exactly ones you're talking about , will have to grab a couple from a 4x4 place , but one question thou and anyone here might be able to answer this question , are the fixed shackles legal on the front of the bar , i've often thought that nothing should protrude out from the front of the BBar even spotties.
