Looking for a new CSK Rangie

    Hey all,

After i had to sadly sell my beloved rangiei am in the market for a new 4wd after considering a landcrusier and patrol but the land rover bug has bitten hard and i want another Rangie but my next rangie will be a long distance tourer so it a diesel i know they are hard to find i have only ever seen one that was't stuffed. so i am planning a diesel conversion with a 5 speed manual but which engine is better suited a 4bd-1t or a Td5 i want to modify the engine aswell to get more power out of it.

    any info would help

    Cheers

Are you sure you mean a CSK Rangie? CSKs were a special edition to recognise Charles Spen King (hence, "CSK") who designed the original Rangies.

Only 200 of them were ever built and to my knowledge only 2 of them are in Australia. There was an Australian model called a CSK, but it was a 4 door and lacked the elegance and exclusivity of the "genuine" CSK.

They are quite rare and very sought after.

As far as I know the Range Rovers were only available with V8 Petrol engines, and most are auto.

You could drop a Diesel in it yourself (I believe one or two members on this forum have done it with a 4BD1 / 4BD1T) but I haven't heard of it being done with a TD5.

For either option though you are looking at some serious $$$. 4BD1s are around the $6,000 mark I think? (Help me Isuzu mutants!)
