Iv found a 85 RR for sale which has a rear ARB Air Locker, 3inch lift and 33" muddies with 9month rego. He is selling it for $2000 i was wondering if this is a good price? i don't know what millage its done but I'm not to interested on that as my plans are to use the suspension on my 98 D1 and put the locker in the rear of the D1, plus run the muddies for offroad trips only.
Does this sound like a good price? and would these conversions be possible?
I hope some of you guys are online now as im keen to check this rig out asap!
Thanks guys!!!
So it would be a cost effective thing to do?...Also I'm guessing if its running a 10 spline axle that it would be pron to breakage? What about the suspension is that possible to be fitted to a 98 D1? as far as i know they both run the same chassis and suspension components?
$2k for an '85 is top dollar nowadays, with or without additions. there probably won't be that many competing buyers in the current climate. don't rush in is all i'm saying, consider putting in an offer maybe ?
in pricing allow for your labour in stripping the parts you want and possible stress on any domestic relationships. my mother-in-law is coming for xmas and i'm under pressure to make my parts hulk magically 'disappear' in the next 3 weeks !![]()
This is why i posted this as i wasn't sure on what price this kind of rig should go for! the air locker was the main item which got me interested. Iv thought about the labour side of things, it does concern me a little but i was thinking with the money id saved from the locker lift and rubber that it would be worth it and i could sell the RR with the diso components on it? and not make too much of a lost with consideration to the added kit id have.
For that money you may get a new Detroit locker and special axel from Keith in USA delivered to your door.
As long as you order them in aseparated order to not go over $ 1000 you will not have to pay tax on them.
Any chance you would be able to send me some more information on the Detroit Locker? please as ill have a look into that, im actually planning on putting the locker in the rear of the Diso 1 as it already has a 24 spline.
Contact Keith (keith@rovertracks.com ) the owner of Rovertracks Untitled Document and he will look after you.
Just mention that you are member of this forum.
We purchased a big lot of Truetracks and Detroits lockers from him.
I also have his axels in the back of my Rangie and they are very well made.
There are a lot of members here that have the Detroit lockers at the back and some members have the combination with the truetrack at front as well.
