Thread: auto Diff lockers

So i need to go to a 24 spline diff and i might not break it with a locker? I'm looking at keeping it pretty light and am putting soft springs with long shocks and dicconnects for the springs but i'm putting a gas system in it right now, want to tow a trailer behind it, some rock sliders, a bullbar and will end up on about a 33" wheel as well.

I have been told you can put hilux centers in the rover diffs, redrill the housing with the lux axles machined down. They are cheap centers and you can get a locker for about $4-500. I have a mate that should be able to do the axles if i let him know what needs to be done.

What do you need to do for the lux centers or should i just bite the bullet and get a vac locker on the rover diff with new axles?

I just finished installing a lux centre in the rear of a rover yesterday

You need the centre and axles, jacmac does the axles for $800 a pair

Problem is, unless you have a rover 4.1 CW&P lurking around, you really need to fit a front High pinion centre form an 80 series aswell

a fair bit of machining work involved also, albeit, basic stuff, merely dial it up and some basic boreing
