    Was this a good price?

    Hey all
Just bought another Rangie off flebay. See link below:
RANGE ROVER 1985 5 Speed - eBay, Passenger Vehicles, Cars, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 04-Jan-09 17:17:46 AEDST)
Do you guys think this was a reasonable price and does anyone know the car?

Also on a side not I have a electronic dizzy with the plastic cover inside it has two wires coming out of it and the original has one where do these wires go to?

    Ouch!
But then any car is worth what someone is willing to pay.

Hi BB - $3k seems quite reasonable to me considering it has dual fuel and dual batteries.

Dunno about the colour though - I reckon it could have gone for another $500-1k or so if it wasn't brown!

Mate - quite seriously it looks like you've got a good truck at a reasonable price and even if you have to spend a couple of grand to sort out the common niggling issues like engine temp, rust in the top rear tailgate etc it is still a solid and relaible vehicle.

Just put some decent offroad-biased tyres on it (e.g. Coopers, Mickey Thompsons) and go have some fun with it.

I paid similar money a couple of months ago for a '91 Suzuki Sierra (also requiring rego renewal), and I am certain that it does not have the ride comfort of your RRC

Sorry, can't help you out with the dizzy - been a long time since I've looked under the bonnet of a RRC with intent.

    Cheers, Paul.

I was the second owner of that car. I purchased it from Ritters around 1998 and traded it on a disco in 2001 after it started cutting out at random on a regular basis and could not diagnose the fault. It was also due for a 2nd cam replacement at that time amongst other problems.
I thought the next owner put in a new motor as it was advertised on ebay about a year ago for a much higher price than you paid.
It was a great car to drive and the colour grows on you.
When I bought it the bonnet had been resprayed and the roof needed to be.

    good luck with it.

G`day , the original factory is the two wire one for a BA model 84/5 yr

The wires go to the ignition amp which ( in factory form ) is an alloy block which the coil sits upon ( maybe 5 X 3" rectangle sorta ), found forward on the pass/left side inside wing just behind PS reservoir .

Later ones have this amp on the dissy and is much smaller , later still same thing was mounted remote on Discos ( small one ).

    Cheers

ps , if it`s a good one that`s a fair price in my opinion . Yes later models can be bought for the same money but good basic ones and also good 2doors are getting scarce .
